Here’s an example of how Evelyn’s venues—her various talents—all work together to build your brand:
If she needs to create a corporate brochure for an attorney, for example, she can create it all in-house and have the flexibility to make changes midstream…in strategy, in content, in design, and in execution.
Normally at an ad agency, a Creative Director will receive the content copy from the Account Executive who receives it either from the client or outsources it to a Copy Writer. Then it goes to the Art Director who designs a spec or two or three around that copy. The project is then transferred over to the Graphic Designer who checks the art, tries to match the copy and fit it the piece.
Here’s how being multi-creative in different venues works for her:
EVELYN’S METHOD: She may be researching stock photography for a particular type of image. If she were the Graphic Designer at the ad agency (as she once was), she would continue to search until she found the sought-after image. However, if during her search—since Evelyn is a Copy Writer as well as a Graphic Designer—she finds another image that is even more suitable than the one originally searched for, she can use it and come up with a better headline. Plus she can add or delete copy as she goes to better fit the piece. And if she can’t find a suitable image—because she is also a Fine Artist and Photographer—she can create it from scratch!
THE USUAL ROUTE: If Evelyn were at the ad agency and wanted to change the image, she would then have to go back to the Art Director who, in turn, would seek out the Account Executive to contact the client to see if this new headline and image meets with their approval. Instead, Evelyn develops several comps for the client and discusses it with them when she provides the proof. Being multi-creative cuts to the chase and is more productive. And there is no need to outsource content development to a Copy Writer, or layout to a Graphic Designer, or illustration to an Illustrator, or photography to a Photographer … because using the Evelyn Salvador brand, it’s all under one hat (literally).
